I was a little curious about the "Ride in back" option, that allows a soldier to ride one per side of the fuselage? I thought it might come in handy for simulating a ground crew working on the engine or rotors or something, but to use that in-flight seemed a little unrealistic and, well...odd. I can imagine it being funny to use in some missions like CTF, CTI, etc. but it doesn't match the flow of realism that this addon is going for. Maybe you can make a seperate version with this option available, while the rest have it removed?

It's primarily a emergency option - in reality they don't stand on the sides like that, they sit in them, but I still need to make a proper static animation to show them in that position.

It's a documented feature, uncommon, but it's been used.

Another thing I noticed, and don't take this as a negative comment, but what was the original intended idea of being able to board the pilot's seat of the damaged helo model? I have a few good ideas that I can use this in some missions, but is it possible to make both pilot and gunner seats open, not just the pilot? If they are both already open, please excuse me.

There should be four places for personel in the crashed meshes. IF anyone survives a crash, they'll be placed in the crashed mesh that's generated (I had a hard time trying to script a way to make a crash survivable, but it didn't work out so well, especially in multiplayer).

Can you please write a more detailed readme file, including more specific instructions on placing crashed models and also adding a full list of features and possible system failures? The current readme said to place a crashed object on the map to prevent the stutter when a helo crashes, but it didn't give much more info. Do you need just one helo wreck per map, or one helo wreck per live helo? I'm also just curious to hear what the various system failures are possible.

Not a problem - for the crashed meshes you only need one for each type of the AH-64 on the map; for example, a AH-64A model (either modern, 1985 or rogue) all use the same AH-64A wreck - you only need to place one on the map. A AH-64D wreck for any AH-64Ds on the map, and so on.

do you think you could changed the m230 sound though? i remember from that one video of the apache firing on people. the sound is more like a solid bam instead of the chain sound yours has.

The current sound is pretty much the best one I could find - if anyone would like to help me out in this respect, I'd appreciate the help.

The M230 sound in the dynamicrange sound addon is the "real deal".

I have no idea who to contact to ask for permission though.

About the cargospace aboard your Apaches....

Would it be possible to allow only the pilot class to be able to board it?

That way you limit the aircraft so as it can't be used as a two-man transport helo.

I do not see what is the big deal about the added cargo postions, if you don't order one of the men to take it it won't get used. He's said before he needs to make a new animation, I suggest contact Sanchuary and ask nicely, sure he help with that with no problem. Most you need to do is ask, and show him that pic of the story with the guy strapped to the fuselage. Besides I really get tired of having to low crawl back after a crash or having to bial out of my bird when it got hammered. Other than having to lop off the AH64 NVGs from the pilots, it had major cliping issues against the cannopy.

Actually I just completed a simple cargo animation... So that's already taken care of.

I'm not really sure it's possible to limit what personel can ride on the sides, since they all base from the soldier class. rock.gif

With the other more dedicated transport helicopters out there, the AH-64 doesn't offer much over them for troop transport, especially with the vulnerabilities they have.

Although it's unrealistic, it's pretty nice to be able to ferry a buddy or two to his forces in CTI before you go hunting.

Hawk already configerd AH64s for CTI, I would say not bother wasting your time to be honest, people are just too lazy to find them. Or Hawk will envntually config yours out if its used enough. With all the scripting its be kind aunsuable and be like DKMs havok all scripts removed so it work in CTI proporly. The Current CTI rated birds should be fine.

Nah, thats a personal CTI that me and a friend run often. wink_o.gif
