Placebo 31 Posted January 21, 2005 Get rid of the ; in both the modfolder and the shortcut, I just tested and Opf doesn't like it and won't load the addons in the modfolder that way
theavonlady 2 Posted January 21, 2005 Get rid of the ; in both the modfolder and the shortcut Huh? He needs the semicolon to separate between the WWII and the objects mod folders.

instantheadache 0 Posted January 21, 2005 What do you mean with target FIELD? The properties of the shortcut for resistance says under 'general': "Shortcut to Flashpointresistance" Location: "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint" and the usual info about size and date info. under 'shortcut' it says: targettype: "Application" target map: "OperationFlashpoint" target: "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" start in: "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint" and further only info of no interest. Note the descriptions are translated from dutch and may not be the same as in the english windows version
instantheadache 0 Posted January 21, 2005 The 'objects' may refere to the "universal objects pack" which was said to be required for the mod. I presume this universal objects pack is already installed because I couldn't find it on the internet for downloading. It seems to me this is one of the first updates for OFP which is already included when upgraded to 1.96. Otherwise, the ; between ww2 and objects means it can use ww2 or objects but not necessarily needs both of them does it?
theavonlady 2 Posted January 21, 2005 What do you mean with target FIELD? Let's do this: 1. Copy the original OFP Goty/Resistance shortcut and paste it on your desktop. 2. Rename the new shortcut to "WWII Mod" or similar. 3. Right click on the new shortcut and select Properties. 4. In the target field, append the following at the end: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">-nosplash -mod=WWII;objects I'm assuming these 2 mod folders actually exist, according to what you've said until now. If so, try running OFP now by doubleclicking on the new shortcut. I don't know exactly which objects pack you're referring to. Search The FAQ for "objects". Are you referring to the same Object Files by Kegetys? If so, sadly, the makers of the WWII mod you're having trouble with should not have used these. While we're at it, maybe you can also post this mod's ReadMe, so we can see exactly what its install instructions are.
instantheadache 0 Posted January 21, 2005 I changed the target field as you said, when I open the shortcut now, it says the target "E:\games\flashpoint\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE-nosplash,", is unvalid. As you see, the error announcement doesn't name the whole target field but it end with "-nosplash," instead of "-nosplash -mod=WWII;objects". Could the problem be that the target field can only contain a limited amount of characters?
Placebo 31 Posted January 21, 2005 You need a space before the -nosplash

As you see, the error announcement doesn't name the whole target field but it end with "-nosplash," instead of "-nosplash -mod=WWII;objects".Could the problem be that the target field can only contain a limited amount of characters? Here's my target field, for example: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">"C:\Program Files\Games\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nosplash -nomap -mod=@Winter;@PigsCanFly;@FlashFX;@HiSky;AMORE Notice carefully that the double quote marks enclose the file path only - not the command switches that follow. Is that your mistake? Also, there should be no comma after -nosplash or anywhere in the target field, for that matter. Also not the length of my target field. You've got room to spare. I'm guessing it can be up to 256 or so characters.

instantheadache 0 Posted January 21, 2005 IT WORKS!! Even the campaigns! Thanks AvonLady!!! You must have a patience bigger than my headache!! What I did wrong was: I did not add the -nomap - and I thought the " marks were meant only to make clear what was in the field and that they should not really be typed in the target field. Thanks everybody but especially Avon Lady who has invested so much time in stupid guys like me!!
