Fork122 0 Posted January 2, 2005 I can't connect to remote games, so today I was spending some time looking on the Avonlady's FAQ and I found this: Quote[/b] ]One thing to look for would be the existence of a copy of file DPLAYX.DLL anywhere other than in it's installed Windows subdirectory. One game publisher once placed a copy of this file in their product's game directory to overcome a launch issue they were having with an earlier version of DirectX. When DirectX 8.1 was installed, the existence of file DPLAYX.DLL in two locations prevented connecting to online games. So I did a search on my system for the file and sure enough I found two copies of it. One was located in C:\Windows\system32 and the other was located in C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386. The second one almost sounds like it may have been in Windows XP SP2. So I spent some time today looking at the forums for similar posts and this thread caught my attention. El_Nino says in the post Quote[/b] ]I am running XP Pro SP2 Do you think because of SP2 remote play doesn't work? I've been spending time trying to find out why it doesn't and this seems like it could be the cause. If it is what would be anyway to fix it?
