Zipper5 74 Posted May 14, 2010 Don't feel bad. The world is more interesting with gay folks in it. Lol HyperU2, don't take it to heart. :p BoB was definitely the better series, and I like both the Army and the Marines. I don't think The Pacific is bad, though, just not as good, but I wasn't expecting it to be. I enjoy it for what it is.
HyperU2 11 Posted May 14, 2010 I wasn't. Don't take my comment to heart either. Some tongue and cheek things sound more flamy online. :p

SD_BOB 10 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) I agree Zipper... You definatly need to look a each series on its own merits. To be fair though they have had to do this series from scratch, where with BoB as good as the series is. It always had a very strong base set out by Steven Ambrose in terms of putting all of the facts and situations into perspective. The Pacific, is based on multiple accounts so it stands to reason that getting it all to fit together as one wouldnt work, hence the disjointed appearance. Although i agree the dymnamic and progression of the characters in The Pacific has been, up until Sledge, a bit lacking (if at all there). I honesty couldnt name more than 4 of the characters, the problem with this is you just dont become "emotionally attached" like you did with Easy Coy. MrBump 10 Posted May 15, 2010 Yes, I agree that BoB hasn't been beaten by The Pacific, but that doesn't mean I don't like it. Both are my two favorite miniseries. Obviously never seen the Das Boot mini series. :)
