Silencer 0 Posted January 11, 2002 I noticed in real wars that soldiers dig holes in the ground for saftey...how about they made holes in the ground to hide and find cover. does OFP engine supports this kind of thing?
Damage Inc 0 Posted January 11, 2002 No it doesn't.
madmike 0 Posted January 11, 2002 It will suport it if the trenches are like objects. For example: If they make trenches that are above the ground but are blended in like tiny bumbs in the grond. Anyone knoe what im on about or should I make it clearer???
DnA 5154 Posted January 11, 2002 Yeah that sure would be cool ... and hopefully some of you can somewhere in the future make some new add-ons with such models/buildings. Like MadMike said: just make them blend in the ground real good.
Brentk 1 Posted January 11, 2002 but then comes that pesky problem of having the addons prior to playing.... i think that ofp needs to have 2 things for sure 1) download addons while joining game(if #2 is possible of course) and 2) JOIN IN PROGRESS!!! maybe 1 is a little unrealistic with some addons being so big... who knows
madmike 0 Posted January 11, 2002 It would add so much if BIS added trenches to the game like how I described becuase they could be interlocking and massive fortifications could be made. It would take them less time to make than making a vehicle which need loads of research etc.
FetishFool 0 Posted January 11, 2002 The fact is that trenches would make battles extremely long. And BIS would have to make new actions for the soldiers that want to jump into the trenches, then another action for getting out. It's hard enough getting the AI to get on his knees, instead of on his stomache as it is. I want trenches. I like long battles. But I hate it when new bugs are introduced when old bugs are fixed. But, this is the reality of computer games vs console games.
