IceFire 0 Posted October 31, 2004 HELP! I'm have alot of popups on my machine whether I am in the internet or not. I also probably have thousands of spyware and adware all over the place. I can't click ANYTHING without everything going berserk! I am willing to download or try anything to get rid of all of these and clean up and protect my machine. ANYONE IN THE KNOW KNOW? Akira 0 Posted October 31, 2004 First download either Firefox, Mozilla, or Netscape 7.2 and enable popup blocking. Second, disconnect your machine from the the internet and (after downloading the latest AdAware), and run AdAware. Run until ya got nothing. Then only use teh browsers from above. MilitiaSniper 0 Posted October 31, 2004 First make sure all your cookies are blocked. Only!!! Accept 1st party cookies when signing onto something. Or you can't view the sight properly. Then block 1st party cookies after your in. NEVER!!! allow 3rd party cookies. Go to here: DownLoad.com Search for Spy and Adware blockers. You can also find PopUp Blockers too. Some are free. Some you gotta pay for. So are trial timed. Add some maybe be viruses themselves. Make sure you have a good Anti-Virus Software. I think there is also a Spybot.com? Sniper_Panther 0 Posted October 31, 2004 I have this loads of times. If you want really good advice do this. Download SpyBotSearch&Destroy then Mozilla. Boot in safe mode (When blue screen comes up press f8) Then run spybot. Go to your C drive and delete everything that looks suspicious. Also press CTRL+ALT+DELTE and close everything that has Owner on it. Except EXPLORER. Reboot and post here. If that doesn't work I have a few more things in mind.
