Guest RKSL-Rock Posted October 28, 2004 It's probably standard hangar design number 15 Â Ok in the course of hunting out some Nimrod Schematics I found the brochure that i took the basic design from. Â They (real world ones anyway) are designed to an MoD Spec by a company called WS Atkins (who also designed alot of the Western World's HAS and also most of Iraq's, which are now rather expensive piles of rubble). Â AnywayThere are two types as far as the MoD is concerned: Upgraded Prefabricated Shell - Essentially they took all the cladding and framework off an existing hanger and remade it using a series of kitted parts ontop the orignal walls and foundations load etc permitting. and Prefabricateed Protective Structure Kits (Modular) {The Brochure is in MoD speak "4032 bolts, for the the use of" etc} Essentially a built to order kit kinda like lego for airports! Â I've heard of Plane Spotters...now I think we're starting a new craze of "hanger Spotting!"
