Drivers and frame ratesWOW wierd Stuff going on

OK ,

Once again it's me with a small prob did the download on nvidia and loaded the latest driver(dont really like it)23.11 but it has a mind if it's own sometimes its stable other times it kicks me back to desktop and I have to hit the ofp icon at the bottom and then the game will start,this pc is only a few months old and i did delete the last driver (STABLE ONE) befor I looked to see witch one it was??Help also In my last post I know I need more ram (CURRENT IS 128 rd) will downloading the program at fraps.com and running it in the beginning to see my framerate is better from one driver to the next be the best way to select driver??

Frame rate is always secondary to stability. If you download a new driver and have more problems with it than with the last stable driver you had, don't keep it.

I've seen the problem you describe before (OFP starts, but shows up on the Task List rather than going full-screen). However, that was with older versions under Windows 2000 -- I haven't seen it under Windows XP or with V1.40.

Sometimes when I clicked on it to activate it, there would be a crash in NV4_Disp.dll -- I was able to avoid that by keeping an eye on the CPU utilization (courtesy of a minimized Task Manager), and not trying to activate it until all of the CPU activity that happens on startup subsided.

But again, I haven't seen that problem with V1.40 running on XP. I'm using the V23.11 Detonators, BTW.

You know my spects and yes it's doing it on 23.11 and win xp It did it only with this new driver .I will change my driver when I get home (WORK PC NOW) and see wats the happs.

Ok did the fraps deal and it says my framerate when I start is 32 is that good??? I did put on the previous driver and it did good for a while then FREEZ!) Damm I'm frustrated!!!
