DSegrin 0 Posted August 27, 2004 In February, theGXL brought in nearly 300 attendees for the targeted 256 Man Lan. Pappy-R from PlanetQuake drove down from Canada, as well as Jeff from ATI. Mike Jaret from Running with Scissors and Darren from Toms Hardware were also in on the sponsorship attendance. We had an array of other supportive companies such as City Electric, D-Link, X-Gameservers, and Pepsi. The following are some links to stories and press releases that were contributed by some of our sponsors and the most reputable gaming resources out there. http://www.tomshardware.com/game/20040306/index.php http://games.dlink.com/events/theGXL_feb04.asp http://www.planetquake.com/features/articles/gxl_a.shtml http://www.accelenation.com/?ac.id.219.1 http://www.ampednews.com/?page=articles&id=90 http://www.planetquake.com/images/photo/index.asp?id=455696 So far, theGXL has been hard at work behind the scenes making immense improvements on all aspects of the LAN Event. Now geared up with high end Cisco gear, a completely routed network, and nothing but managed switches on every table, this  translates into a near 0 ping environment for everyone. Our 260,000 watt powerhouse transformer peaked at just under 17% utilization during the last LAN party. Professional intelligent lighting and sound can be expected at the 512ml just to mention a few enhancements.
