pogingwapo 0 Posted August 9, 2004 Help! PCI VIA6202-2 USB 2.0 doesn't work on Windows 2000 Professional. This is the only OS we have. The USB cards are new but aren't working. Worse, the computer doesn't boot when the card is attached. Should I buy a new one? What brand would you suggest?
Silent Pro 0 Posted August 9, 2004 So is this a PCI-USB expansion card? Or is this an onboard USB Controller? If its onboard try and update the drivers by downloading the latest VIA Hyperion or 4-in-1 drivers. If it is not onboard download the latest drivers from the manufacturer of the PCI-USB card. pogingwapo 0 Posted August 9, 2004 It's a PCI-USB expansion card. Â Manufacturer says that drivers are in Windows Update. However, when I run Reinstall Driver computer hangs. I tried rebooting but computer doesn't start anymore.
Mister Frag 0 Posted August 9, 2004 With some hardware, you must install the drivers before installing the hardware itself. Remove the USB card, and restart Windows with the "Last Known Good Configuration". Once Windows is up-and-running, try to install the drivers from the CD that came with the card, or try to download more recent ones from the manufacturer's site. Then shut down the PC, install the card, and restart.
