Bronco 0 Posted October 31, 2001 Sometimes when I host a game on GS the game starts almost instantly and then more often than not I get hung up on the creating client screen for about 2 mins and by the game starts most of the people have left. Does this have something to do with the other peoples ping. I dont boot anyone with a high ping. I have 384/128 DSL and 1.2 with 512 ram. Speed test on DSL reports comes in around 425/109 so I should be able to get 6-8 players in. When I join a game I am always one of the first in. Anyone having same problem or have a fix for this? Dawdler 0 Posted November 1, 2001 A suggestion, dont use 1.2, use at least 1.27, disable firewall just in case, and try again.

Bronco 0 Posted November 1, 2001 Firewall off same problem Have not tried with 1.29 patch yet so that might help. Game is a blast hosting or not so it's not that big a deal. Howerver it is faster to get a game going if you host than jumping around from room to room before you find a host who is actually there.
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted November 1, 2001 Loose GSA and just host, GSA tends to drop 1/3 - 2/3rds of the clients past 4 clients get the ASE at http://www.udpsoft.com/eye host from that but then run GSA to advertise you want players to join
