-IT-Q- 0 Posted May 21, 2004 hi guys i've been experimenting and testing several things to improve an ofp server's performance. i'm getting now relatively easy more than 50fps (shown by the servercommand #monitor). well it has been said several times that their is a limit @ 50. with our old server i havent seen values greater than that - but the old one hadnt any modifications in the configs. (of course in only get more than 50fps when i am alone on the server. with more ppl the serverload easily becomes too high) is this a bug or can those values be correct? has anyone else experienced this so far? can anyone advise me some good external tools for monitoring cpu, ram load and stuf like that - most detailed information! screens fps01.jpg fps02.jpg fps03.jpg fps04.jpg fps05.jpg fps06.jpg fps07.jpg fps08.jpg flaspoint.cfg Quote[/b] ]MaxMsgSend=1024; Total_Memory="342"; // 66% of max MaxSizeGuaranteed=512; // 512 MaxSizeNonguaranteed=256; // 256 MinBandwidth=3840000; MaxBandwidth=10240000; MinErrorToSend=0.01; server.data Quote[/b] ]Celeron 2.400 MHz 512 MB Ram 60 GB-IDE harddisk Linux SuSE 9.0 in-house: parallel 644 Mbit and GigaBit lines exterior connection: 2,6 GB Â Â strato SR (root server) regards
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted May 21, 2004 dunno this is ours MaxMsgSend=512; MinBandwidth=5120000; MaxBandwidth=5120000; Dual 2.8 HT Zeons 2 gig ram redhat 9 something (the latest) never seen the need to go past 512 for maxbandwidth, rumor has it the game ignores that setting and uses minbandwidth more, but you never know going to test some of your settings and see how the server handles with full bore 9v9 CTI new test settings MaxMsgSend=1024; // was 512 MinBandwidth=7680000; // was 5120000 MaxBandwidth=10240000; // was 5120000 // test settings MinErrorToSend=0.01; Total_Memory=1024;
bn880 5 Posted May 21, 2004 You might benefit with a maxsizeguaranteed of 1024 on some heavy MP missions. Especially running stuff like CTI etc. cheers
