Gimp 0 Posted March 11, 2004 I have searched for this without any luck (although I found a fair bit about routers etc). Is it posible to run a 1.96 dedicated OFPR server on the "slave" computer behind winXP internet connection sharing. I have a 1500/256 connection to the "master" computer via a USB ADSL modem. I have a static IP address. I have tried but players couldn't connect to the slave computer, but if I was hosting on the master computer..no problems. Any help appreciated! Cheers, Gimp
Lt_Damage 0 Posted March 11, 2004 You need to setup the port forwarding for the 2302-2303 UDP / TCP ports.

Uhhh, how do you do that? If you refer to a router, as prev. mentioned, I only have a USB modem. Or is there a way to enable this through software (winXP)? crashdome 3 Posted March 11, 2004 To simplify how your setup is working and how to correct it: You have one IP address and the information is being received by your "master" at that address. Your "slave" is not receiving the information because it shares this address with your "master" and you do not tell your "master" that you wish to forward the information. In order to remedy this, you must first get the internl IP address of the slave. Go to network Connections and right-click the connetion you are using. Select "Status" and go to the 'Support" tab. Write down the IP address. Go to your master computer and also open up your network Connections folder. Right-click that connection and chose "properties". Go to the advanced tab and activate the Firewall. Â Then click "Settings". A list of common port services are listed. What you need to do is add two services (name them whatever you wish) and type in the port (both UDP and TCP) and the address of your slave. Then enable them. This tells your master to forward any information from those ports directly to the slave machine. Note: I believe you may need to disable these if you wish to join an outside server because your master will always try to oontact the slave automatically while the settings are enabled(I am unsure about this as I use a router instead).
