Rambo's financial advisor 0 Posted February 29, 2004 Hi Recently I decided to replay Operation Flashpoint. My old original cd was knackered so I splashed out Å5 on the PC Gamer re-release. Anyhow there seems to be a problem with resistance. Without resistance installed, everything runs fine, but after installing it I get some graphical problems. The main menu screen either shows up green, or it'll pan around a plain white map with green skies (And no menu options). The patch doesn't seem to make any difference. I am using the latest drivers for my gfx card (Which is a Radeon 9700 Pro). Anyone have any suggestions? Cheers
Rambo's financial advisor 0 Posted March 1, 2004 Problem is sorted now thanks to renegade77. Just had to reduce the Graphics Aperture Size in BIOS Cheers
Placebo 31 Posted March 1, 2004 Searching for green should have found you links to solve the problem, figured I'd add that for the next Radeon owner who does search
rekker 0 Posted March 5, 2004 I had the green menu problem but with a GeForce 5900 256mb, changing bios didnt help me at all, but changing from running direct3d to direct3d HW T&L lets me play it. Whats the difference between direct3d and direct3d HW T&L? I also have a ATI 9000 on a slower PC and I put resistance on that and it runs, but that PC is so slow I cant put distance very far without it moving in frames. Placebo 31 Posted March 5, 2004 Well my uneducated answer with regard to HW T&L is that for one there are additional graphical features (such as Sun's reflection on water) that aren't available in standard D3D (unless that has since been patched in, can't remember), additionally I believe in HW T&L certain graphical functions are performed on your graphics card rather than being undertaken by your processor thus freeing up more processor speed for other elements of the game
rekker 0 Posted March 6, 2004 Thanks, since just plain direct3d was the default choice I just wanted to make sure switching to it wasnt hindering my performance, but if your correct then I guess its better So maybe some other people that were having the green menu problem should just try to switch to HW T&L before messing with bios settings.
