I have cold war crisis, the original OFP that came out...do ppl still play it online? I have a very fast upload speed and wouldnt mind being a server, but will people join it if I go thru the trouble to? Also, can anyone point me where to download user-created multiplayer maps? I especially like the ones where you control the flag, not capture it.

^^ Obviously he's never taken a look at GameSpy to see that you can find 3000% more games of CWC (ver. 1.46) than people playing Resistance (1.85+) any time, any day.

Which is a bummer , because Res is so much better, but it's difficult to get people to convert ...one main reason why I quit playing OPFlash all together for a while and started playing BF1942....solely for the reason there are always thousands of people online and you can join games in progress.

So I suggest you try there if you wanna play 1.46 CWC ...still some good players and missions there. But the Res MP is better for many reasons.

Might wanna check the ingame browser off resi m8, atm this moment in time theres 80 people playing CWC in gs, yet almost 900 playing resistance

I played CWC online with ~20 people only a couple of days ago because i couldn't find a suited resistance server. All the ones with more than 2 people on them either had addons(other than mine) or a non-compatible version number.

So even though there might be many people playing 1.85 and up, they tend to be spread out on different versions and there are almost always addons required.

Go right ahead and set up a 1.46 server. If you don't use addons and have good bandwith, you can get loads of players coming in and staying(depends on adminning skills too   ). I have tried this recently, because I only got my GOTY less than a month ago. It is definately worth it if you are the guy setting up the server, if you are the player looking for a server I am not so sure, very few decent servers around.

The kinds of people you'll get connecting at first are often new to online playing with OFP(singleplayer gamers who just got DSL?) or very familiar with other online games but not OFP(younger brothers getting the old games?), and then you get guys who had their CWC lying around for a year or two and now return to the one that keeps on funning(got bored with the game they got for cristmas? ). Once you have 4-8 people you'll get a lot more people connecting and they will be the ones that play 1.46 regularly(the ones oyman does not believe in, and who number in the hundreds at least ).
