Patch 1.95 beta will not install

Recommended Posts

I have patched to 1.94.

When I try to run the 1.95 beta patch executable I get the following error message:

Quote[/b] ]Verifying Operation Flashpoint, version 1.94...

File FlashpointBETA.exe is missing.

One or more files in game instalation are modified or dammaged.

Reinstall game from original CD disc and try again.

What file is meant by FlashpointBETA.exe? Do I really have to install and apply multiple patches to get  from 1.91 up to 1.95?

I have another problem with the linux dedicated version:

sxan101:/kunden/ofp# ./server-1.95.shar

Operation Flashpoint Resistance dedicated server 1.95

x - creating lock directory

x - extracting server (binary)

./server-1.95.shar: uudecode: command not found

restore of server failed

server: MD5 check failed

x - extracting ofpserver (binary)

./server-1.95.shar: uudecode: command not found

restore of ofpserver failed

x - extracting tolower.c (binary)

./server-1.95.shar: uudecode: command not found

restore of tolower.c failed

x - extracting readme.txt (binary)

./server-1.95.shar: uudecode: command not found

restore of readme.txt failed

Converting OFP directory:

No file-names were converted

any idea to solve?

Mr.Peanut

Try do delete all "Flashpointbeta.exe" Files, so "Flashpointresistance.exe" (1.91) is the newest File.

Then patch to 1.95.

This is strange.

I patched 1.95b over 1.94b and it worked fine (overwrote the previous flashpointbeta.exe). However, the patch should not require the old beta.exe to be present either so I don't understand your error-message.

Did you try what Oswald say?

Removing the old beta.exe should make the patch just copy the new into your ofp-directory.

Oswald's advice worked.

This was my problem. I hated BIS's naming scheme and had renamed all my executables sequentially except for 1.94 which I had renamed flashpointresistance.exe. The 1.95 patch detected this version as 1.94 and failed.

I renamed the 1.94 flashpointbeta.exe and the 1.91 flashpointresistance.exe and all was fine except previous flashpointbeta(1.94) was overwritten.
