BBC coverage

Quote[/b] ]Nato forces in Bosnia say they have raided the house of wartime Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic, but found no sign of him.

Troops from the Nato-led stabilisation force S-For have been searching the eastern town of Pale since Saturday.

There were reports that a war crimes suspect was there seeking medical help.

Mr Karadzic and his military commander Ratko Mladic are wanted by the war crimes tribunal in The Hague for genocide and crimes against humanity.

Yeah, good luck I say. They've been after him for - what - seven or eight years.

I think the problem is that they're making a really half-assed attempt at finding him. They raid some place every six months and when they find nothing they wait for another six months to make another raid...

well, the odds of finding him are quite low, i agree, especially seeing of SFOR proceeds

to quote the Reuter's title

this net's gotta have pretty large meshs smile_o.gif

the population support to thes men is a real problems though and in my opinion, looking for 2 men deliberately hidding in a country such has bosnia is quite a tough job, it's not Iraq with its few villages, rocks and sand

Bosnia as a whole can be considered as an assortment of mountains and hills, more or less hard of access, i would compare this region to the french mountains of Auvergne in some ways, not only nature offer good hideouts, but the part of the population which wouldn't mind helping Karadzic is not what i would call small and it wouldn't be a problem to find shelter in the inhabitant's house.
