Hindhunter 1 Posted December 2, 2001 I have discovered a very annoying bug regarding to the rate of fire of Helo rockets som time ago. If you create a mission and choose to fly any of the helicopters, you will see that when firing rockets the rate of fire is slower than what is normal. I noticed this could change from time to time between missions and tried to figure out what caused this. By chance I learned that if you adjust the skill of the unit by dragging the slider left or right, you also affected the rate of which the rockets are fired. With maximum skill, you get what appears to be the realistic ROF for FFAR/UV57 rockets whereas you get a significantly slower ROF with the slider at minimum. I think this is just to silly to be meant to be since the ROF has nothing to do with the gunners skill, it´s a preset in the weapons system and shouldn´t be adjustable. I´d like to call it bug in it´s true meaning. (Edited by Hindhunter at 2:38 pm on Dec. 2, 2001)

Sandman 0 Posted December 2, 2001 Its the same thing with MG´s....set their skillevel to zero - the rip off one shot at a time, set it to maximum - the go full auto. Its not a bug in the words real aspect, but it sure is annoying. BIS didnt think through this one....

Hindhunter 1 Posted December 2, 2001 What would you call it then? : )
MrLaggy 0 Posted December 2, 2001 Personally, when I'm flying a helicopter I never let the gunner shoot FFARs because they'll probably blast away with half the rockets we're carrying before I can tell them to stop. In manual fire I can usually kill an APC or tank with 1-4 rockets, but the gunner keeps firing even when there's no chance of a hit.
Hindhunter 1 Posted December 2, 2001 Until you issue the "cease fire" order yes.
Black Knight 0 Posted December 2, 2001 If your alone in a heli, then the rockets fire way faster then if you had a gunner and choosen manual fire. Check it out and you will see.

Julie Holland 0 Posted December 2, 2001 Unskilled people have to find the red button first hence the slower ROF (Yes they have to find it again after they fired..Don't you think they'd be skilled if they actually remembered?)*shrugs* Julie
