lukemax 0 Posted December 1, 2003 I was reading "All the addons that never released" topic and i thought someone could make a Web-site and people could submit old addons that they started but just didnt get round to finishing or just wanted to get off there hands. Thanks Luke

Apollo 0 Posted December 2, 2003 Well ,it would be a good thing if the some of the unfinished addon's could be taken on by other people.I think there must be a fex filter's in place: It must not be for a: addon's that have bad config's b: addon's that have got so few work that it isn't interresting to share we could go at it this way.We make a site or use a thread. On this site/thread we let addonmakers post wich unfinished addon they albeit want to give over ,with their e-mail adress included or download adress to get the files ,and the description of what is done. (and preferably screenshot) And lets see how far we can go with that ,it will make a good list reference of wich unfinished addons can be used for finishing by other addon makers. Edge 2 Posted December 2, 2003 How about forcing people around to make missions with completed addons instead of wasting time and space with unfinished attempts? Just and idea... Apollo - not a bad idea to set some rules. But the addons that are worth of finishing are rather being completed according to personal contacts and agreements (e.g. BAS completing Marfy's humvees). Apollo 0 Posted December 2, 2003 Quote[/b] ]Apollo - not a bad idea to set some rules. But the addons that are worth of finishing are rather being completed according to personal contacts and agreements Yeah i know. Therefore i said in the rules that the author for the unfinished addon should give his e-mail adress in the post. That way ,he can force people to ask to be able to change it ,if he wouldn't be supplying a download link defacto. So that makes it easier for addon makers and simple users. If an addon maker want's to share an unfinished but not to everyone ,he can select one of the applicant's in e-mail to his liking.Does he wish to spread it regardless the finisher ,then he just adds a downloadlink. addon makers like BAS and Marfy have a high profile in the community ,everyone knows who they are so they easily get help ,but they go for high quality. However there are much more relativly unknown addon makers that would have less chance to get help from a important addon makers team since they have to use time to.I think for such people this might be a good place. It might also be good for those that are good modelers but bad texturers ,and for texturers that don't like to model. I would guess this thread would only get a 15-20% of all unfinished addon's ,yet thats probably still a lot ,and if this idea provides for more addons for the comunity then we should try to achieve it.
