Diniter 0 Posted December 8, 2001     I ran into some problems with placing my order and I want to let anybody who is thinking of buying the Red Hammer upgrade to know a few things I wish I knew.     #1 Enable cookies. Turn your settings to default.  The worst thing would be that somehow your info gets  lost during the order. This probably will be mentioned from the website ,but don't rely on them to tell you.     #2 Setup your printer to document the receipt. Don't 'save as' html or a prn file because it won't show up. WYSIWYG doens't appy here.     #3 If you don't receive a receipt within a couple of days your order is fudged (like mine) and you could order it again or find a third part store to buy from.  Well, I think those are the most important things to remember. I hope all your shopping goes alright. Enjoy a happy holiday season. --- Out. P.S. I haven't reviewed my credit card statement yet. angrysquirrel 0 Posted December 10, 2001 does the program come down in a self extracting file? I hope so because if I ever need to either reformat my hard drive or reinstall ofp I would like a way to reinstall red hammer
theavonlady 2 Posted December 10, 2001 No, you'll have to do this manually. You have to download a 35MB file named RedhammerENG.exe from Codemasters. Then you run it and it checks the integrity of your install. I failed the test the first time I ran this but it came up OK the 2nd time. When it works, it starts up a dialogue that tells you that it will open up your browser to get the credit card and personal details. I already had Netscape open and this did not work. It just returned a blank page. So I copied the URL that was opened and started Internet Explorer and pasted the URL in there. That started working. Once you've filled in correctly the info and you submit payment, you get a message that says to allow the install program up to 10 minutes to complete. The EXE that you originally ran will close. It took me about 2 minutes to see the familiar OFP upgrade window pop up and confirm and copy the new Red Hammer files that were unlocked from the EXE after succesful charge card payment. The Prima game guide PDF is placed in your OFP base directory. New files added are: \OF_PRIMA_ENG.PDF \Addons\Voicerh.PBO \Campaigns\REDHAMMER.PBO
suchey 0 Posted December 11, 2001 Wow...Netscape is most certainly falling by the wayside and holds an ever dwindling portion of the browser market, however, I dont think that its such a dead issue that companies can afford to ignore it just yet...most certainly a very nasty oversight by their web development team.
