Unhappy customer 0 Posted October 18, 2003 It would be great if people would release their addons in multiple schemes for better usefullness. For example, if someone releases a specific type of tank, they should release woodland, winter and desert paint schemes versions. Also they should release an unmarked version that could be used to reprent a military other than that of the Soviet Union or the US. And people who make civilian cars should release them with multiple paint schemes. This hopefully would cut down on the massive number of unused addons in the OFP community. theavonlady 2 Posted October 18, 2003 I see a very limited relevance to this. First of all, sometimes the addon maker wants to release a finished product before going on to release various versions of the same addon in a different shade, especially of it will take some time to release the next scheme. Second, whether they're released individually or as a set, unused addons are mainly a result of a major lack of mission making teams. Read mig sig.
NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted October 18, 2003 If everbody did that it would take for ever to release something. The hardest part for most addon is texturing.
BraTTy 0 Posted October 18, 2003 Yes and each version usually requires another model, so addon size gets large! Take for example the F4U Corsair pack...has 5 types of schemes,5 plane models, large size addon A car with many paint schemes would turn into a large addon
NZXSHADOWS 0 Posted October 19, 2003 I wonder if you uv mapped everything on one Texture sheet,to have the unit randomly have different textures Like the Random numbering script or like the players face for example.I Bet the texture sheet would be to big.
