1.92b specific problem after an exit..

Recommended Posts

Here's a problem i have already post about in the second part of a reply i had made to another troubleshooting issue.

After i have played OFP:R when i try to launch it again or any other 3d application or any videoplayer with OVERLAY i get an error and they wont work unless i reboot (the rest is working).

The problem is related to the graphic card/driver. I am now almost sure it is 1.92b specific as it still never happened with 1.91.

I have some reason to think it's related to the way 1.92b exits as it never happens if i have a unexpected exit from the program (crash to desktop) and it occures a lot (not everytime) when i clean exit.

My PC specs = nforce2 mobo with athlon XP 2600+ ; Geforce 4 ti4200; 512mb ram; 1280 mb swapfile ; Windows ME .

I talked to someone else who had thisl problem occasionally too but never realised it only happened with 1.92b before.

So, if other people could check on that and confirm (or not) that it happens only with 1.92b.

I didnt,1.92b runs 100% ok with me.

1.92b runs 100% ok with me too... it's other applications after i quit that have problems (as mentioned , applications that use overlay/3d ). From time to time

I think i finally found out how to prevent the problem, it still doesnt explain why it happens with 1.92 and superior versions and not with 1.91 and former ones.

It seems that since 1.92 ofp doesnt like fraps anylonger when exiting.

Now, if i alt tab and quit FRAPS before i alt tab back to OFP and quit it, the display/overlay/d3d is ok.

Just in case the few with the same problem (or using free version of fraps) are interested.
