Tga -->alpha

Recommended Posts

Select 'masks' from toolbar, make a 'new one' 'from image'. Then select 'masks' again from the tool bar and there should be an option to 'save to alpha channel' near the bottom (I use PSpro 6 so I'm guessing), save it. Then choose 'save as' from the 'file' menubar and save as a 'TGA' file...

Check out colenal klinks tutorial, it's on page 5 or 6 somewhere in this forum...

*EDIT* Page three actualy! smile_o.gif ...

Im having the same problem with psp8,i did make a new mask+save to alpha channel,but when i save it as a tga it says

Quote[/b] ]"Because of limitations of the specified file format (and possibly the save options you've selected), the saved file will be limited to a merged image. Also as a result of these limitations only 1 alpha channel will be saved"

I havent messed with psp8 options,so settings are still default.

The problem is that, after i convert it to .ase with kegetys TGA2ASE tool and import it to visitor, i get a badly deformed island. Any clues anyone? Im a complete noob at this but i really would like to learn how to make volcanic archipelago of small islands...

Have you read Klinks Tute?, you have to 'enable' some options, like 24bit TGA and 'save uncompressed' for it to work...

I had the 'sliced and diced' problem as well!, but it was the mask being made but not saved to alpha, sort out the settings and it should be fine smile_o.gif ...

PS, I still get a message when saving, but it works OK (it's not about the alpha though, just limitations of format, blah, blah, blah!)...

WHAT IS AN ARCHPELIGIO? (Spelling!) I've been trying to find out for ages! biggrin_o.gif ...

Did you add the alpha channel 'last thing' before exporting it?, or did you make it in the begining?...

YouAre using greyscale yes? Black & white only?. Try saving as 24 bit TGA first then adding the mask, then saving to alpha, then save again normaly.....
