Imshi-Yallah 0 Posted September 1, 2003 The J-10 is not even in the same weight class as the Typhoon, it is in fact a single engined, delta winged single tail, canard equipped light fighter in trhe F-16 class and rumoured to have been developed with covert assistance from IAI hence the strong resemblance to IAIs cancelled "Lavi". However the purchase of Su30mks threatens the future of the J-10 in PLAAF service and it seems unlikely that the J-10 will ever become the large scale J-6/7 replacement that was intended. On the other hand it has a potentially lucrative future replacing many aging and obsolete aircraft in the armouries of Pakistan, and China as always will export to anyone who isn't actually at war with them on the day of hte sale.
