Sectors and characters are not available for selection in the mission

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, don't be too hard on me, I'm new to Arma. I created my mission, it works well in the editor, but when I try to run it in co-op with friends, there are no units available in the character selection menu. Although everything works fine in the editor

This works as intended if you don't use a dedicated server

  1. Have you set your player units to playable?
  2. If yes try removing them and placing them again and export to multiplayer again.

Does this mean it works hosted from your a player's PC?

oh yes, I can play from the editor by creating a LAN session, but when I try to launch a mission on a dedicated server, I am greeted by an empty lobby window with no units

Welcome to BI forums!

Does your mission require any mods?

If so what mods?

Is the dedicated server a computer your running, or is the server from a GSP (game server provider)?

If mods are missing on the server then mission may not have playable units available to choose, and in most cases mission wont load.

Even if all mods are on the server, if the command-line is incorrect then mods, wont load, another thing is,

if a mod uploaded to a server is not fully uploaded it wont be read by the server and will give you that "you cannot play or edit a mission because mod xxx file is missing".

So if your using a GSP dedicated basically a rented server from a company like Streamline for example, are you using their system to

install mods on the sever, or are you uploading the mods yourself via FTP? Again that is if your mission is using mods.
