Drill Sergeant 0 Posted August 5, 2003 Well I guess I will have to trow out all my work now that it's done and all of that wasted the configs are to touchy to be messed with and the models (About 25-30 of them) Over a million and a half faces in all my work combined. All my work was wasted, oh well kept me busy for the summer. It would take me a lonng time to re config it all because the files over lap eachother really nicely and to redo that would take a while.. Now I am going to have to pull all my released work too. I guess it will just be some thing only I can use. No big deal I'll just clean up the mess I made and move on.. Every one can downlaod BAS's Seals instead. Â I did this all alone and with no outside help. Just too bad I even tried it. Mabe next time around I'll just sit around And complane instead of trying to fix the problems. Shame they collide I was almost done with the whole thing with the ecception of my M4 MK config which would have been done today. Oh well I came along for the ride in OFP editing since alittle while after people found out you could edit things in OFP I have seen things come and go. I have only recently registured because I was content to remain in the back. So untill I can reconfig this (Which I would appreciate some help with.*Which I know I won't get any help with.*) I won't be releasing the Navy SEALs even my name collides with your mod so I can't really do anything any more sorry for bothering every one. What's wrong with self extractors? if you have a self extracting rar you get great compression and the people downlaoding it don't need to buy or downlaod winrar to use it. A self extractor is like a shortcuted extracting zip window. I like rar because of these features. Good compression Self extracting code no need to download a program to oppen. Ease of use. der bastler 0 Posted August 6, 2003 Self extracting code no need to download a program to oppen.Ease of use. security point-of-view: Executable code can contain viruses, you don't know if someone modified the exe (ever seen checksums near self-extractor download locations?), you can't verify what exactly the program does, etc... I don't get it why Win doesn't provide native support for standard compression formats (XP-zip-crap excluded) like other operating systems? Anyway, with the updated versions of my USCM addons I also updated my naming conventions adding the prefix "bastler_". Another problem regarding naming issues: If you have a too long texture path (e.g. "bastler_dropship/textures/ramp.paa"), Oxygen starts crying --don't know if this is important...
