Limits within o2/buldozer

Recommended Posts

I know there is a limit with components, but is there any other limits that anyone is aware of??

The problem I have is, occasionally buldozer wont show the model for the lod I have selected.

If I open O2 then open my p3d, buldozer shows nothing with lod 1.0 selected.

If I change to lod 5.0, all works fine, but if I then try to go back to lod 1.0, buldozer continues to show lod 5.0.

The model lod specs are:

lod 1.0 - 6945 points, 6655 faces, 97 named selections

lod 5.0 - 5290 points, 4865 faces, 96 named selections

lod 10.0 - 1999 points, 1715 faces, 69 named selections

lod 25.0 - 1289 points, 1123 faces, 54 named selections

lod 50.0 - 557 points, 414 faces, 41 named selections

If I reduce the number of faces and named selections it eventually works properly, but I'm not exactly sure what is causing the problem.

Any ideas?? sad_o.gif

I have problems with anything over 5000 polys, so maybe

buldozer has a much smaller engine than ofp does, because

when you think about an ofp island with all the objects, thats

got to be way more than 200,000 polys, and buldozer can

barely do one complex object

I only little help you:

-use this numbers of lods:

0.500

1.500

3.000

5.000

7.000

9.000

-like a sample we have here an vehicle,primary(0.500) LOD have 3400 points and 3300 faces,so the best way how create others LOD is:

0.500 -3400 points

1.500 -2750 points

3.000 -1400 points

5.000 -800   points

7.000 -500   points

9.000 -150-200 points smile_o.gif

- In this LODs dont use components!!! it only add some more KB to your model!

-components use only in: FireGeo.,Geo.,Land contact,View Cargo Geometry,View geometry etc LODs smile_o.gif

-max count of components is 99!!! but i think this is enought:)
