Multiple machine gun firing points

On the BIS M2A2, I just noticed that the machine gun will fire out of one point, and the 25mm cannon will shoot out of a completely different point, and the TOW fires out of the TOW launcher. Now, if I got it right, this is done by adding the kulomet and kulas memory points into the model. BUT, my question is, how do you define where which weapons fire from? If I wanted a, say, .30 caliber machine gun to fire out of the left side and a 30mm cannon to fire out of the right side, how would I do that?

I don't believe the machine guns fire from different points on the M2, and I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do(this is really wanted in OFP2).

No, look very closely at the BIS M2A2. The machine gun barrel to the left of the 25mm cannon barrel is where the Machine Gun shots come out of. If you shoot the 25mm cannon, the main barrel is where the shots come out of. If you shoot the TOW, the missiles come out of the TOW launcher. Now, unless APCs can use the strela and raketa memory points, the TOW takes up the konec hlavne and the usti hlavne memory points. This means you only have one memory point left for the machine gun and 25mm cannon. But both weapons come out of different points.

Try lokking at the BIS demo BMP it has rocket luncher a canon and a MG.

Don't know noting about it just guessing.

It probably just uses the strela memory point in conjuction with the barrel and kulas points. I'll mess around with it and find out...

Assuming if I find it. Haven't messed with it a whole lot, but as long as I'm trying to get some eventhandlers to work on my Jaguar I might as well try with it.

Depbo'ed the BIS M2A2, and while the config file is a bin and the model is encrypted, I did see some sense out of the config file; most notably, this line:

Now its hard to tell much about it aside from this line is in the cfgweapons section, but it is a lead. I've already tried the line though and it doesn't appear to work. Also, just checked out the BMP2, and it has multiple firing positions as well - the AT6 comes out of the small tube launcher at the top, cannon shells come out of the main barrel, and machine gun rounds come out of the machine gun barrel to the right of the main barrel.

The BIS M2A2, and the bmp's, and all the other tanks utilise the "kulas" memory points.

You must define usti/konnec hlavne as the main gun. In the case of the M2A2 this is the 25mm Bushmaster. Now, you may add a 3rd memory point "kulas" this is the secondary machinegun point (or the commanders weapon), or the "MGun" on the M2A2.

Define that memory point, and you will be able to have 2 machinegun/cannon firing points.

The missiles on the M2A2, and the BMP's use the "spice rakety" memory point, which will provide you with a 3rd firing point, but ONLY for missile type weapons.

Thanks deadmeat, thats what I was looking for. Next question is, how do we define what weapons come out of the konec/usti hlavne points?

The "spice rakety" firing point will only work with guided missiles, or any rocket type weapon?

well the spice rakety will only work for guided missiles (why anyone would want to put FFAR pods on a tank/apc is beyond me tounge_o.gif )

shotFromTurret = 1; goes on the gun you want to be fired from the main gun (usti/konnec hlavne) and the other weapons will, by default, fire from the kulas memory point.

It would be nice for the WW2 fraternaty to get a Sherman Calliope(?) with 20 x 120mm unguided rockets on top smile_o.gif
