xtropy 0 Posted July 9, 2003 Ok I have tried everything and now I am here as a last hope After getting pooped off with Raven Shield, I pulled OpFor out of the closet and wanted to play a few games now that I have some decent hardware and the developers actually support the game either then *cough* UBI *cough*. Here is what I have so far... I own the Original and the Gold Upgrade, nothing else. I install the game (without the Gold Upgrade) and it runs fine. I install the Gold Upgrade and I get polygons all over the screen that look like square icecream cones (best I can describe it). Then the game crashes to the desktop. I deleted all .cfg files, tried D3D software and T&L and changed all other settings, used autodetect etc and still it crashes to the desktop and I get the polygon weirdness everytime. I have a 2400+ (not overclocked), EPOX 8KHA+, ATI 9700 Pro with the latest Omega drivers (Tried older Omega's and official 3.5 Catalyst's and same prob). Tried 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 32 and 16 bit. 1 GIG of RAM. Soundblaster Audigy1. Running Windows XP Pro with latest patches and service packs. Version is 1.30 or 1.46 Flashpoint.rpt is as follows: ===================================================================== == E:\OperationFlashpoint\OperationFlashpoint.exe ===================================================================== Exe version: Wed Jul 09 16:15:32 2003 file: intro world: intro campaign: battle: mission: ======================================================= Date: 07/09/03 Time: 16:20:36 ------------------------------------------------------- file: intro world: intro campaign: battle: mission: Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION Fault address: 004D7AB2 01:000D6AB2 E:\OperationFlashpoint\OperationFlashpoint.exe Version 1.30 Fault address: 004D7AB2 01:000D6AB2 E:\OperationFlashpoint\OperationFlashpoint.exe Prev. code bytes: 5D 8B 44 24 24 83 C0 14 43 90 8D 64 24 00 8B 29 Fault code bytes: 89 68 EC 8B 69 04 89 68 F0 8B 69 08 89 68 F4 D9 Registers: EAX:00000014 EBX:00000010 ECX:1164CBC0 EDX:1164CC90 ESI:116459D0 EDI:104E8848 CS:EIP:001B:004D7AB2 SS:ESP:0023:0012D88C EBP:BE8F973D DS:0023 ES:0023 FS:003B GS:0000 Flags:00090212 ======================================================= ===================================================================== == E:\OperationFlashpoint\OperationFlashpoint.exe ===================================================================== Exe version: Wed Jul 09 16:21:40 2003 file: intro world: intro campaign: battle: mission: ======================================================= Date: 07/09/03 Time: 16:22:12 ------------------------------------------------------- file: intro world: intro campaign: battle: mission: Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION Version 1.46 Fault address: 004E1222 01:000E0222 E:\OperationFlashpoint\OperationFlashpoint.exe Prev. code bytes: 78 5C 8B 44 24 24 83 C0 14 43 8D 64 24 00 8B 29 Fault code bytes: 89 68 EC 8B 69 04 89 68 F0 8B 69 08 89 68 F4 D9 Registers: EAX:00000014 EBX:00000010 ECX:112CA550 EDX:112CA620 ESI:111053D0 EDI:1052F14C CS:EIP:001B:004E1222 SS:ESP:0023:0012D888 EBP:BE8F973D DS:0023 ES:0023 FS:003B GS:0000 Flags:00090212 ======================================================= I really hope someone can help me. I was able to play it fine before with a 1700+ (same motherboard) and a Geforce 3. I am 99% sure this has to do with my 9700 pro but don't know how to fix it. Like I said I deleted all the .cfg files and just can't get it going. Please help!!! Thnx in advance, Xtropy

blackdog~ 0 Posted July 9, 2003 Sorry for my ignorance. I thought the topic was crash during save, not to desktop when starting game... Try searching the ofp faq
