gaming247 0 Posted July 6, 2003 trackIR is a great gaming device. trackIR enables u to controll your view by moving your head. For those who don´t know it, check out www.naturalpoint.com. So please support it in OPF 2. I am really missing it in OFP right now... This would be really great....
Major Gripe 0 Posted July 6, 2003 Will you buy it for me if I support its inclusion in OFP2?
Hotdognz 0 Posted July 11, 2003 Ill put my hand up for TRack IR support in OPFP2. The unit is awsome to use and would be great if there was native support in the next version
Charos 0 Posted August 10, 2003 Count me in as well for the TrackIR Support. For flying aircraft its the best thing you can have besides a Joystick and I imagine for other vehicle or general Infantry control it would be just as Awsome. Once you have used TrackIR there is NO going back.
Shashman 0 Posted August 10, 2003 Hmmm...I'm detecting a pattern here...
RomanG 0 Posted August 10, 2003 I am fully behind this request, OFP team, please add support for separate device-control for body direction (already done - by mouse) and separate for head movement (trackIR head tracker or other proffesional head tracker with three degrees of freedom (trackIR has just 2DOF I guess)). I think this should is fairly easy to implement, not as those other request where they "want to see running soldiers sweating ... :-)". I think this is absolutely critical especially if you are flying any aircraft. It would add a lot to realism, since in reality you CAN drive your helicopter/car to one direction while looking around to other directions. Actually I would like support for this sooner, perhaps as OFP 1 upgrade, I can't wait for this until end of 2004 ... Perhaps adding support for ANOTHER device would be nice too.How about this: device 1 (mouse): body & gun direction control device 2 (head tracker): head direction control device 3 (position tracker (placed on head or body)): body "position" (such as stand/crouch/lie/strafe left/right/) control If we go into (not too much) extreme we can separate body and gun control too, so you can run in one direction while shooting to another direction and looking to yet another direction. But I think if this scenario should be playable then it would require hardware such as light head mounted display, two flicker free virtual gloves plus body & head position tracker, which I don't think most gamers will have within next ten years ... :-(. I think we can (almost) achieve this with just two devices (mouse & trackIR) and additional key-command which would switch gun direction from body to head direction - and by another key-press back from head direction to body direction, this should actually be pretty natural. Hope somebody will take my 2 cents ... :-) Thanks, Roman
DeliriumT 0 Posted January 16, 2004 Adsolutely, Enhaced mode is a must! It can't be that hard, is it? oh yes... bump . DeliriumT
Dubble0zero 0 Posted January 16, 2004 I can't agree more... This have been discussed before a long time ago, and when I wrote it in the track IR forums, they said that they were discussing it or something like that... So I hope that it is something that is being fixed, it shouldn't take long since naturalpoint is doing all the work (that's how I have understood it anyway), all BIS have to do is give them the opurtunity and give the needed info to Naturalpoint... That's how I think it is done anyway...
Friedchiken 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Man, we keep on piling and piling and piling work every second Still, I second that request. Even though it's too expensive for me, I actually use the "freelook" toggle using the capslock key (especially when running away as a spec ops).
