You_looking_at_me?, this is the main problem with WWII addons, that there is no balance between different addonmakers` models. Maybe some common damage system would change that situation.

In fact protection of Sherman (depends on version of course, but generally) was better than of Cromwels. Homogenous armour or rolled plates of American tank always had good quality. Important also was it`s thickness and slope. M3 main gun in for example Normandy was obsolete, but newer versions could match German PzKfw III-IV. Also water protection of some of Shermans increased crew`s chances for survive.

Cromwell had small, not comfortable and modernization-friendly hull and turret, old main gun. It`s armour had good quality (rolled steel) but was sloped vertically and had not enough thickness, even with aplique armour. Tight interior was death cage when tank get a hit from Panzerfaust or Panzershreck. And just like "European" Shermans Cromwell was powered by combustion motor, with all it`s advantages and disadvantages (burning petrol/gas).

Interesting in this pack is PIAT. This weapon with it`s handling model give advantage for British forces. No one from I44 Germans and Amercicans could so fast destroy armour and support collegues in assault.

I think Sten is too accurate. Comparation with I44 Fallshirmjaegers indicates, that British soldiers with Sten could kill at 200-300 meters : on this range German paratroopers have problems with engaging.

Once again I stand corrected I'm getting good at that arent I Still I was fairly sure the Cromwell was in general a slightly better tank than the Sherman. Personally I believed it had the same main gun 76mm If I remember correctly but Cromwell had slightly thicker armour and less of a tendancy to brew up. But once again I may have been very much mistaken.

The British forces in general I believe are more effective than INV44 counterparts simply because of more forgiving recoil. When you fire the sten or bren you will get a general spread of bullets in the area between your crosshair and the top of the dot. With INV44s MP40s, Tommys and STG44s recoil is very high and not so forgiving. Meaning using a SMG at range is very hard indeed.
