302_Dragon 0 Posted June 19, 2003 I need some help...I looked through all the forums for the past two weeks trying to find the answer and I've tried every suggestion that was given to people with similar problems but nothing has worked. My problem. Every time I play OFP and OFPR the game freezes for a short period, when I first shot my weapon and/or whenever I get in and out of vehicles. Sometimes it gets to the point where the game crashes. It is progressivly getting worse. Here is my system specs: Operation Flashpoint Game of the Year Edition (Patched to V1.91) Compaq Presario 4410US 1.29GHz Intel Celeron processor 384MB SDR Ram Ge-Force FX 5200, 128MB DDR, AGP Graphics card. Thrustmaster: Top Gun Afterburner Force Feedback Joystick. I've installed the latest drivers and made sure there was no joystick conflicts or anything like that but still the lag...I've even re-installed OFPGY twice. Somebody please help me out I'm having major problems and it's not helping when I'm trying to test addons for the USMC Mod.
302_Dragon 0 Posted June 20, 2003 Anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong?
shadow 6 Posted June 20, 2003 I don't know what you "have tried" (it does'nt say in your post, but .... Which OS? If WinXP - tried updating with a servicepack? Might be a OS-related problem and not driver-related. On the other hand, might be an audio-driver/card related problem. You say it happends when you "first shot your weapon and/or whenever you get in and out of vehicles". What sound-card is in that Presario?
Placebo 29 Posted June 20, 2003 Do you know what motherboard you have? And if so do you know what chipset it's based on?
302_Dragon 0 Posted June 21, 2003 Sound Card is SoundMax Version 5.3.0.900 and it's driver version is 5.10. My OS is WinXP. Sorry thought I put that in the main post. I have it on auto update and double checked to make sure, but it is updated to the most recent version. The same goes with my joystick and graphics card drivers. I've had the same OS and PC for over a year...this started about two weeks ago. When the freeze starts it happens anywhere from every 10 seconds to every minute. Very frustrating. SGTKOPP 0 Posted June 21, 2003 how many addons do you have? i used to have that prob wit my old pc i just turned down all the settings and it worked fine, then i got a new pc so i wouldnt have to worry about it
302_Dragon 0 Posted June 21, 2003 Well I know thats not the problem since I just dumped a bunch of addons not to long ago....I had more addons before and the game worked fine. Actually it worked better when I had my ATI Radeon 8500 64MB graphics card...the problems started not to long after I got my Geforce FX 5200 128MB card. I think it's got something to do something with the card or my Joystick (Thrustmaster: Top Gun Afterburner Force Feedback) because I got both of them on the same day and installed both of them on the same day.
