This error does not make sense

Recommended Posts

Okay,...heres the deal:

I de-pbo the awesome BAS Delta, and Ranger addon, and modified the config to arm them with the awesome "high detail" weapons by Inquisitor.

I did this is steps (I changed loadouts on half of the units...re-pboed the addon, and played with it that way for awhile)

It worked fine...and looked awesome. (no lag either)

All of the Delta units (including the Delta Desert Team Leader) were changed in the first step, and worked fine

Today... I de-pboed the addon again, and rearmed the rest of the units. (now they are all armed with Inquisitors weapons)

OFP starts fine.

I go into the editor, and place the Delta Desert Team Leader on the desert island map, as the "player"...and press "preview".

I get the "Get Ready" screen...and then OFP crashes to the desktop with this error:

Out of reserve memory (393216KB)

Code change required (current limit 524288KB)

Total free 54737KB

Free blocks 112, Max free size 52866KB

This problem ONLY occurs if certain units are set as the "PLAYER"...and even if it is the only unit on the map.

If I make the same unit AI controlled, and put some other unit as the "player"...it works fine.

Only some of the BAS Delta units do this...others will play just fine as the "player", even though all have had their weapon loadouts changed.

I assume this is a memory problem, but WHY only if certain units are the "player"?

AND, why did the Delta Team Leader work with changed weapons (as the "player") BEFORE I changed the rest of the units...but not NOW?

If anybody can clue me in....I would be eternally gratefull.

My system specs:

Dell Dimension 8200...120 gig HD...Pentium4, 2.26 GHz CPU...Nividia GeForce4 64meg...768 megs of RAM.

I FIGURED IT OUT !!!! I FIGURED IT OUT !!!!

Turns out, when I replaced the weapons...I gave some of the units too many magazines.

On a hunch, I went back in and took a few magazines away from the "Desert Delta Team Leader"....AND NOW HE WORKS PERFECTLY

Now I am off to take away some magazines from everyone else.
