miles teg 1 Posted May 16, 2003 One thing that I've noticed that really sucks is that the only two jungle maps out (Jungle Malden and Jungle Everon) have all the map names changed to Vietnamese. Is there any chance that anyone out there could make a Congo map simulating African jungle terrain? At the very least could it be possible for someone out there to simply take out the Vietnames town names on either the Jungle Malden or Jungle Everon map? Is anyone working on anything like this. I think it would be best not to have any names so that the map can be used to simulate jungle terrain in all parts of the world (Africa, Asia, South America, ect...). The textures for the buildings could remain the same as the Jungle Everon/Malden maps as they basically look like similar village huts in Africa and other parts of the world in the tropics. Same with the sounds. Anyone interested in this idea??? I would like to make some good Peacekeeping missions situated in tropical Africa using Bibmi's African militia addon. But right now I'm just missing a proper jungle map. Anyone know of any other Jungle maps besides those two?? Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

Nagual 0 Posted May 17, 2003 Have a look in the BAS update thread Miles, i think when that island is out it should suffice. All the town and area names are taken from papua new guinea, as they sound very african, but can pass as a variety of places in oceania and pacific areas. Though the largest jungle area is nameless, just seemed fitting. While that island is fictional, i worked from hundreds of reference pics of africa, as it's a very nice country with diverse terrain. Most of the jungle is "2nd generation" jungle provided by Ebud, maker of jungle everon, and Select This has helped alot in object placement techniques, combined with scripts by TJ and custom sounds, it is a nice jungle, nice enough to make you feel like you are somewhere new in ofp. There are also some other reasons why that island while be good for african scenarios, but they will have to be a suprise
