Damage Inc 0 Posted December 26, 2001 The mission is Spearhead if I remember correctly...you can't fire because your commander issues a "don't fire" order at the border zone.

antiflag 1 Posted December 26, 2001 in what tank r u? and m60 or m1a1? if it's a m60 u only can reload about 1 sabot/heat in the same time a t80/t72/m1a1 can relaod about 3 so maybe you'll have to wait
jedisalf 0 Posted December 27, 2001 Im in a m60...yeah, I guess is the reload time, but it takes too long!!...by the time I ll be able to shoot again my tank will be destroyed....anywasy I skipped the mission....
schurem 0 Posted January 16, 2002 you big wuss first of all: hang back, let the m1a1's take the fire second: fire, retreat, reload, advance, fire, repeat ideally you should do this on the crest of a hill, moving between hull down (only the turret showing) and full defilade (completely hidden) by moving back and forth. that is how it's done IRL but in this particular mission i suggest you load heat (explosive shells) and fire at the two terraces on the big mountain to the right. there's rpg troops there and they need to die
Dr Jekyll 0 Posted January 16, 2002 Also, always use manual fire, can save your ass a lot.
Frizbee 0 Posted January 17, 2002 I didn't have any problems with that mission. All three tanks. (My M60, and the two M1A1 Abrams) survived, and all the enemy tanks were destroyed. It was only the long ranged attacks by RPG soldiers you couldn't see that made me decide to pull back when I was ordered too. Go into the external view, and target an enemy vehicle. Fire... and while waiting for the gunner to reload, switch to the machine gun, and tell him to start attacking infantry... before switching back to Sabot / Heat and firing again. Then your Gunner will not say 'Can't fire' etc. And if you really don't like being Commander go to the gunners position, you'll still have to direct your tank (Fwd, Bkwd, Left and Right) but you get to shoot aswell. Order the other tanks in your column to engage at will or Open fire adn form Line..............and you should have no probs.
