Multiplayer problem

Recommended Posts

Whenever I try to join an MP game, I get this problem. What happens, is that it takes me ages to receive the mission files (nothing new there), but instead of showing me the progress of the download, I only see "downloading 0kb/0kb", and every now and then, I get the "recieving" text, after witch it goes back to "downloading 0kb/0kb". In the end, I usually get into the game, but I'm not really there. The others have already started, and I'm lagging behind. I can't get in vehicles, or kill anyone (cause they're really not where I see them). Every now and then I actually manage to get into a game, but I get quite a bit of lag. The other day, I managed to play 2 games on a server, but there was only me and the server present. I have no troubles on any other online games. I used to have an ADSL connection, and had no troubles whatsoever, but now I'm on cable, and I haven't managed to play since (except for the occasional few I've managed to get in). No settings on my comp have gone through dramatic changes since I played on ADSL, except that my 3dcard has changed from voodoo3 3000 to GeForce4 4200TI. I'm even using the same network card, as on the ADSL. I live all the way in Finland, but that's never been a problem, and my pings have been reasonable, even on American hosts.

Other specs:

OFP ver: 1.46

Processor: Celeron MMX 400

RAM: 192MB

Directx: 9.0

OS: Win2k pro

You could always go back to adsl right? it looks like yer cable company is screwing you (most of them do), and version 1.46 is ok but you should also move to resistance, many enhancements have been done to the game including a more optimized netcode smile.gif .

Unfortulately, going back to ADSL isn't an option, and since the company is the same, I doubt that's the case. I would go to resistance in a jiffy, but I'm not very keen on the idea of getting it, until I get 1.46 working.
