Laser designation woes.

Recommended Posts

Well, along with a little story, I guess.

I was creating a flying mission with my brand new, spiffy GOTY edition OPF (just got resistance, I feel really smug now) biggrin.gif . I was creating a air tutorial with the huge airbase in the north (on it's own little island) and with the small town inland. I put a guy on the inland near the town (300m) who was a black op (laser) and my leader, I was next to an A10 at the runway about 1400m away.

I get in the a10, tells me to engage the T-80, but not the laser target. On a closer look, he lases the target for about 5 seconds, stops, goes to move, and then lases again, going through a giant repeat (saw this on 4x speed). When in the plane I could sometimes see this fat red dot on the ammoless t-80.

So the question is, how do I get him to lase the target until it is destroyed? I thought about a target teighty, then a action wepaonlaserdesignation, then a fire loop, but I'm not quite sure how to do such in the init field.

It sounds like a bug to me, why would he stop lasing the target when he knows I am inside a A10(LGB) ? It should work properly. Even when I am the squad leader and tell him to action laserdesignatior, target t-80, fire. he does the same exact thing.

If you were wondering, I have version 1.85, and if this is a bug of this version I would gladly update to 1.90.

Any help appreciated in advance, please send your money orders to... smile.gif

dude dofire tank <span id='postcolor'>

Either in a script, trigger or init-line and, if you still have problems with him getting up for a stroll every few minutes:

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> dostop dude <span id='postcolor'>

or the more drastic

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> dude disableai "move" <span id='postcolor'>

Be warned that DisableAI is non-reversible, so don't use it if you need him to run away afterwards.. wink.gif

Bit of advice. Install 1.91. It's the latest and oficially last patch for Flashpoint.
