Addons directory

Recommended Posts

I'd like to better understand the reason why some 1.85+ versions say put in standard addons (.\addons) and others say put in res\addons.

If you put everthing in .\addons what harm/good does it do as opposed to res\addons?

What is the difference and benefits?

thanks

Quantum

when OFPR reads addon files, it reads both \addons and res\addons.

when OFP reads addon files, it reads \addons only.

so if you have an addon that works with resistance only, you can put that addon in either directory, but if you put any addons in res\addons and run OFP, it won't read it.

Same here, except I use the regular addon folder, and have no problems.
