Shashman 0 Posted March 29, 2003 OK I thought I'd try my hand with O2...Was all excited, like I just got a new toy...I downloaded BRSSEBs (sorry if I mispelt it) tutorials, every one of them.I started on the first one obviously...OK...I move onto second one how to make a CRATE ( )...I think to myself..HA! This'll be a piece of cake!I make the actual crate...Then comes the problem. Now I've configured O2 and everything like it says in the tutorial to the exact word, and apply the "red_door" texture to one end of the crate and this works...Whenever I try to then put the same texture on the other end of the crate, the mouse icon turns into the "move texture" icon instead of turning into the little icon with the box (the one that you use to drag the coverage of the texture) so I can't apply the texture for the other side   I tried dragging from just outside the coverage of the first texture but nothing happens.I press the "A" key at the right times (at least according to the tute) , I tried applying the texture using the other view boxes, but still nothing...What's really frustrating is that I am stuck on the FIRST DAMN TUTORIAL!!    ONCE...just ONCE I managed to apply the texture to both ends of the crate, but I can't remember how I did it  ..Could somebody pleeeease help me!!? Thanks in advance
caleb 0 Posted March 30, 2003 It's a missing info in the tutorial. You have to set the dll folder parameter under File->Options. If you have follow the tutorial you should set the parameter to Z:\o2.
scousejedi 0 Posted April 4, 2003 If you managed to apply the textures once then I think I might have the answer.... When you look in the Viewer do you have any faces selected? If you do then only the ones selected will be textured. The rest will be red. ... Otherwise 1. Select the faces you want to texture. You can have more than one. 2. Press A, drag a square out in the window with the selected faces in. eg faces on the front of the crate you should be in front window. 3. Right click in black bordered square you just made and load texture. A list will appear, select the texture you require (dont know what is in the tutorial crate here) 4. The black bordered box should now have the texture in it. 5. Move the box around using the arrow keys (SHIFT + arrow to resize) 6. Press 'A' again when it looks right - you dont have to but if you accidently click the mouse you'll loose the textured window and have to set it up again. 7. B this will apply the texture to the faces you selected. 8. Go to the viewer, your model should be all red with only 1 (or 2 if you selected 2) faces textured. 9. Click anywhere in the windows of O2 to deselect the faces and go to the viewer again, all the faces you have textured should be visible. 10 Repeat until all the faces are textured. 11 Go on to more exciting models. ... It gets easier, just stick with it. We were all struggling like this when we started, put the hours in and you'll be making tanks and aircraft soon. 7.
