Poet 0 Posted March 27, 2003 Lo. I have OFP, Gold and OFP:R ( lucky me ), and I've got them installed and working fine and patched up to date 1.90 ( cause my favourite server is still 1.90 ). I've also got plenty of addons and quite a few usermade missions and campaigns. The problem I am having is figuring out what Missions and games I can play under the old OFP 1.46. I installed OFP GOTY Edition on my friends PC and he has 2 handy shortcuts and has no problems running either 1.90 or 1.46. I sadly cant say the same. There are some missions I'd like to play that are for 1.46 only, and when I try and launch OFP from the old shortcut on my version I get "Editor Upgrade requires OFPR 1.75", and if I remove it I then get other errors. OK, I'm rambling and even losing myself here. Sorry. What Im asking is, is it possible to have an OFP>Gold>Resistance install and run both 1.91 and 1.46 without any problems, and whats the best way to go about it. Any help would be appreciated

This way you can guarantee you can continue using 1.46.
theavonlady 2 Posted March 27, 2003 Sure you can but not always. Let's take the "Editor Upgrade/Update" as an example. The fact that you got that message running OFP 1.46 means you have (most probably) Kegetys' Editor Addon in your OFP\Addons folder. That's not such a terrible thing unless you need the older version, Gunslinger's EU, to run some missions in 1.46. But you can't have both EU files in OFP\Addons, so what can you do? The answer is to place only old 1.46 compatible addons in OFP\Addons and use mod folders to store your addons for use with OFP 1.75 and above. Search The FAQ for "mod folders". Poet 0 Posted March 27, 2003 Heck! 10 minutes and I get 2 OFP Luminaries answering my questions ( /me feels really special now )! I always wondered why there was a seperate Res/Addons folder ( Doh! ). Well dont I feel silly now. But joyous as I run off to go play all those killer missions that have eluded me til now. Thanks a lot guys.

While this may be the addon makers fault, the problem still exist in practical terms.
