iNeo 0 Posted March 23, 2003 Why would DirectX 9 mess up your pc?

Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted March 23, 2003 What is line of sight?
IceFire 0 Posted March 23, 2003 It's a brand new Vietnam game where you play a Sniper who is tasked with taking out enemies. You can use the thick foliage as cover. You can fire down into valleys. It is a great realistic Vietnam sniper game.
KingBeast 0 Posted March 23, 2003 From www.actiontrip.com highs: You get a military shooter with solid graphics, chilling atmosphere and fun gameplay for just $20 bucks! I'd say that's a pretty good deal; lows: Team AI glitches. The enemy AI is at times supernaturally aware of your presence making the option of sneaking past them an exercise in futility. Line of Sight brings nothing new to the genre and its single-player campaign is rather short. Poor presentation.
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted March 23, 2003 Sounds like a clone. Well, I for one am not going to waste time downloading it.

Most of the new games from now on will propably require dx9. The game is the same as Deadly dozen 2 - pacific theater but the difference is that what used to be japanese are now vietcong. The weapons are newer but else I dont see any more differences.
IceFire 0 Posted March 23, 2003 Well then can someone give me a link to where I can download Direct X 9?

Guest Posted March 23, 2003 Why do you need to download it? Surely a game that requires DX9 would give you the chance to install it from the disc???
IceFire 0 Posted March 23, 2003 Ok, I just finished playing the game tutorial and I am VERY impressed.(And that is just the training tutorial that teaches you how to use the weapons!! I have yet to play the actual game, but here are some thoughts. Pros: Â The graphics are top of the line. Â Not just the characters, but the environment. Â It's incredibly immersive. Â This is real grass that you can hide in, and plenty of vegetation, logs, creeks to move around in about and hide in. Â Very detailed with a very real feel. Â I actually felt like I was in Vietnam during the war. Inventory/Gear; One of the things I don't like about Operation Flashpoint is that you carry very little gear. Â In real life soldiers carry tons of gear with them. Â Several spare mags, grenades, exposives, medicine, extra rifles.. Â etc. It's the same in the game, you can carry tons of gear to keep you lasting out in the field. Â You can carry only a maximum amount of weight. Â It feels good in the game being able to carry spare rifles, magazines, medicine, grenades C4, claymores ... Â This coupled with the fact that you have a squad under your command, and you can have alot of gear at your disposal. Â I have one man being the medic, another being an ammo carrier, the others being weapons support, machine gunners etc .. Realism, something I LOVE the most about this game so far. Â Â You can crawl prone, crouch, walk, run, hide in bushes. Â You can choose completely realistic mode, or arcade mode. Â So you have realistic damage models, or not. Â So far, this game is extremely realistic. Immersion, the sounds, graphics, and machine gun fire gives this game a very realistic feel. Â And the enemy speaks real Vietnamese. Â It's very suspensful when you are sneaking around in some tall grass, and you hear some enemy nearby. Â You accidentially crunch a twig that makes a snapping noise, and then you can hear the enemy talk or say something like they heard something. Â They might become more alert. I love the grenades. Â it feels really realistic when you throw them, you can hear them bouncing before they explode. Be careful when you are walking around, you may walk on a tripwire. Â These are incredibly well done. Â If you are on your belly crawling around, and see a tripwire ahead, it's very realistic. Â You can see the sun gleaning off the wire, you can see one end of the wire tied to a twig and the other end attached to a frag grenade. Here are some Cons: Weapons accuracy: Â This is a pretty realistic game. But they screwed up in a few aspects. Â For one the weapons/rifles are a bit inaccurate. Â No Iron Sights: Â I HATE games without iron sights. Â It's just soo unrealistic. Â I can't stand that. That's it for now. Â I recommend that you try the game. Â It's very realistic.
