BUG=SAM= 0 Posted March 13, 2003 Our clan server runs on win2k professional and use Port Filter to prevent server from hacked and attacked. I have added the following Port to "allow list" , the players need to type IP directly to join the server. no HostName displayed on GAMESPY SERVER LIST, and with a long waiting period in both connecting/connected and mission receiving status.... UDP:2302 UDP:2303 TCP:27900 So I changed the Port-Filtering setting to : TCP:2302/UDP:2302 TCP:2303/UDP:2303 TCP:27900/UDP:27900 allowed HostName still can't be displayed on GameSpy Server List , but it seems not to spend a long time for players in server to wait. When I close all Port Filter func, everything runs pretty well. ... Please give an reference guide for "server settled behind firewall/proxy/router" . Thx form the bottom of our heart ! Mister Frag 0 Posted March 13, 2003 I use the following: TCP 47624 UDP 47624 TCP 6073 UDP 6073 TCP 2234 UDP 2234 TCP 2300-2400 UDP 2300-2400 This will allow DirectX (for VON functionality) as well as sockets, depending on whether you change the default port. BUG=SAM= 0 Posted March 13, 2003 the problem still carries on, I have been doing everything in accordance with what u said. ( I didn't change default port setting) With a sniffer software, I found that server 1.90 would access gamespy through Port:27900 when the server startup notice the text with red underline. Why the port 27900 doesn't mentioned in your advice? The second question is that in Port-Filter-Allow-List, only 53 (used for DNS to get IP of "master.gamespy.com") set to be open both TCP and UDP at the same time. Does this situation concern with the Problem ?
Mister Frag 0 Posted March 13, 2003 My mistake -- I don't use GameSpy, hence I didn't include it in my port list. You will have to open it if you want to list your server on GameSpy.
