Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 Can you set up the server for different respawn options, other than that bird? I tried some searches on Respawning but only found a Poll about spawning Thanks! BTW, if it is possiable, could you list the script that would be in my server.cfg file?
Placebo 29 Posted March 11, 2003 It's specific to each mission, nothing to do with the server
Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 Figures Thanks for the reply....
Placebo 29 Posted March 11, 2003 But there's nothing stopping you from using un-pbo and changing a mission to add spawn if that's what you want
Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 Well sorry to be such a NooB but what is un-pbo?
Placebo 29 Posted March 11, 2003 Unpbo is a tool to extract the files that are contained inside a mission's pbo file, you can get it here, you add or change certain lines in the description.ext file, you can find out what to change by doing a search for respawn in the mission editing forum, then you put it all back together into a pbo with the MakePBO tool that you can get from here
Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 You have been very kind Placebo, thank you! I did do a search on un-pbo "after" I posted my question and have downloaded PBOTool and pbo_decryptor15. You have already answered my other question for respawn! Thanks, Thanks, and Thanks for help me.
Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 MakePBO will not download I hope the PBOTool works for 1.90 stuff Odie3
Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 got it going! Â Thanks!! Lot O' Editing now. BTW I see on Avons site this information: NONE: no respawn (I guess 1) BIRD: respawn as a seagull (default) (I guess 2) INSTANT: respawn at the location where you were last killed (I guess 3) BASE: respawn at your team's base (determined by the locations of your base's respawn markers) (I guess 4) GROUP: respawn as a remaining soldier of your group (works only for GROUP LEADER) (I guess 5) SIDE: respawn as an unplayable AI soldier on your team. (I guess 6) But what does "works only for GROUP LEADER" mean? Â Only the Group leader can spawn into a AI, or only if there is a AI leader to spawn into? Thanks
Placebo 29 Posted March 11, 2003 Ok the way that one works, you spawn into the next rank available that's occupied by AI, so if you're the leader of a squad containing 5 AI men, when you die you get spawned into the next AI guy available, die again and you get spawned into the next one, until there are no AI guys left then you don't spawn anymore
Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 Thanks, That sounds like the one I like the best. unlimited spawn will get old real fast in a Co-Op game. We will most likely never fill up a Co-OP team....so might as well spawn into a AI (if there is one still alive)

Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 Wow, thanks, I got the email. You are something else. You do not flame me for being a stupid Noob and you email me a file I can not download. If I could send you a beer I would Odie3
Placebo 29 Posted March 11, 2003 LOL guess you caught me in a good mood Always good to help someone new, gives you that warm gooey feeling like when you meet a really special girl before she turns your affections against you and stabs you through the hurt and stamps on your feelings *cough* errr you're welcome
Odie3 0 Posted March 11, 2003 From Bad Boy Dirt: I've got a question. Is it possible to limit the amount of times a person can respawn in a MP game. Such as if your mission has 12 men in the group and only 4 are human players. The mission is set up to respawn in group. Can you limit how many times a human can respawn. That way when you have that one guy that just seems to Rambo around getting killed and respawning, again and again. This way the other team members would at least have 1 respawn if needed. That is a good Question.....
Placebo 29 Posted March 11, 2003 Hmm off the top of my head I would say that the way I would think to do it would be to load the mission into the mission editor and then however many AI you want to make "unspawnable" change them to non-playable, that way they should be there and active as AI but you won't be allowed to spawn into them Someone who actually knows editing can correct me if I'm wrong..... As this is primarily about editing now I'll move it to ME
Placebo 29 Posted March 11, 2003 BTW to do that to a previously created mission you would have to unpbo it, then copy the unpbo'd directory into your G:\OperationFlashpoint\Users\Placebo\Missions directory, then load it into the mission editor, make the changes to the soldiers, and then export it to MP missions
Taggart 0 Posted March 16, 2003 What mission has respawns?
