Merging .sqm files post initialisation

Hey guys, I'm running into an issue while mission making where animation modules severely lower my frame rate in the editor. I've tried hiding layers, desyncing modules to stop the animation previews and a bunch of other stuff.

My main problem is, I would ideally like to preview these animations while testing gameplay, and due to the complexity of the mission, cannot just use the "Merge" function inside the editor as I am constantly making changes to the environment.

Basically, is there any way that one can import the objects and modules from one scenario to the other after initialisation? I'm aware of the Old Man campaign and the fact they compile multiple files into one master game, but cant make head or tail of their scripts and the methods they are using.
