Knights of the Sky is a WW2 based training mission for pilots. Engage various stationary ground targets, patrolling tanks & vehicles,

or take to the skies and get into a dogfight with planes spawned from 4 different factions!

Features

  • Play Singleplayer (MP Lan) or with 7 other players in coop.
  • Play as a German, British, Soviet, or a US Pilot.
  • Each first role chosen has access to Zeus.
  • Spawn and fly any Secret Weapons Planes.
  • Spawn any fly any Secret Weapons Reloaded Planes.
  • Spawn any fly any Flying Legend Planes.
  • Spawn and fly any IFA3_AIO Planes.
  • Spawn and fly any Messerschmitt Bf-109 mod planes.
  • Spawn and fly any Ju87 Stuka Siren & Skin planes.
  • Recruit AI crew for your plane.
  • Targets on the ground in the surrounding area are marked on the map.
  • Every ground target you destroy will respawn in 100 - 300 seconds.
  • Engage groups of tanks, AT guns, and AA guns.
  • Engage convoys of tanks, trucks, and armored vehicles.
  • Engage Emplaced tanks.
  • Engage AT guns.
  • Engage an enemy airfield.
  • In your action menu you can insert earplugs to lower the sound volume.
  • Adjust view distance settings menu by pressing tab.
  • While flying instantly Rearm, Repair, and Refuel at 4 different locations.
  • If you happen to crash, or get shot down and or die, you will respawn in 3 seconds at the airfield.
  • Watch your fuel gauge as there is a fuel consumption script.
  • Spawn live enemies of your choice with Zeus.
  • Spawn live enemies of groups of Tanks & Vehicles from 4 factions that will patrol.
  • Spawn a plane from 4 factions that will fly and patrol the AO and even dogfight with you!
  • When you crash or get killed you have the option to respawn mid-flight in your previous plane, or back at the airfield.

How do i spawn Enemy Tanks, Vehicles, and Planes that will drive and fly around?

To spawn tanks/vehicles and Planes press 0 (zero) and then 0 (zero) on your keyboard
to access the radio comm channels. Press 0-0 on your keyboard.

 

How do i respawn in my previous plane in mid air
or back at the airfield to pick a new plane?

Just press 0-0 radio comm on your keyboard and choose #1 at the top
of the list which is titled Respawn Mode Switch a hint will pop up at the top
right of the screen indicating which mode you chose.


Note
If your going to play this mission by yourself, then start a MP lan server (see below).

HOW TO PLAY

To play Solo on MP Lan:
1. Go to Multiplayer.
2. Server browser.
3. Host Server.
4. Type in server name, # of players, password.
5. Choose map on left (Staszow) and the mission on right.
6. Choose player role - remember theres 2 roles per side one has access to Zeus.
7. Adjust the Parameters (top right) in the player lobby before you start the mission.

Virtual Vehicle Spawner

This is a script in the mission where you can choose what plane you
want to fly and spawn it from a list.
 

Required Mods

The only required mods to play the mission is IFA3_AIO.
If you have any of the following mods loaded below, then those planes will be in the mission
you will be able to fight against them, and spawn them from a sign and fly them.

There are six mods of planes you can choose to spawn.
If you have any of the following mods loaded then the sign
will list all the planes for that mod:

Update

v1.4
 

- Combined all the signs into one, now you can spawn all mod planes from one sign.

- Removed all but one spawn plane marker at the start point, also moved it in closer to the signs.

- Extended the Taxi rearm, refuel, repair trigger, making it longer.

- Moved player units in line with the spawn sign, so when you start the
 mission the sign is in front of you.

 

- Expanded the patrol markers for Blufor, OPFOR, and Independent, so now spawned in Apcs, tanks, and vehicles
 will travel into further areas of the map.

 

- Expanded the Area 4 marker which is the patrol marker that the spawned in enemy planes
 patrol in, so now more of the map will be covered and flown around in by the enemy.

 

- Added code that will delete the player's body apon respawn.

Update

v1.5
- Removed the code that would put green dots on the map, every time you
spawned vehicles or planes for any faction.

- Added the classnames for the Soviet and US pilot that you can spawn,
unable to do UK because there is no UK pilot.

- Adjusted position of starting players so their closer to the sign.

- Updated the briefing.

- added 5 new planes to the spawn list for
the Messerschmitt Bf-109 mod planes

- Changed the runway rearm repair, and refuel trigger with an instant version
which removes the script for the former.

 

- adjusted the player start spawn plane area, and turned it facing the runway
more making it more square, as before when you spawned a plane you had to turn to
face the runway now you dont.

Update

v1.7

 

Another update, this one is big!

 

Changelog
- Adjusted again the position of the player starting position
making it more square, and moving it a tiny bit closer to the runway.

 

- Updated the Description.ext to reflect the version number as i forgot to
do that for v1.6 😞 now v1.7

 

- Adjusted the colors of the following markers seen on the map
   - Instant rearm, repair, and refuel
   - Area British, German, USA, Soviet spawn
   - Convoys
   - Enemy tank and vehicle spawn areas (also adjusted their location).

 

- Reworded the Area spawn markers to be more simple so you know what areas
spawn what eg,., British, German, USA, Soviet.

 

- Spaced out more the instant rearm, repair, and refuel triggers so their more
balanced between each other in terms of distance apart.

 

- Changed the Soviet tank field on the left side of the map to Allied tanks,
so now there are static tanks, AT, AA for the British/USA you can destroy.

 

- Added static pak40's to the tank field for the Germans as they did not have any statics.

 

- Reduced the number of Hide terrain modules used, now using a couple vs over 10.

 

- Added smoke modules from my Aces of the sky mission to the
Instant rearm, repair, and refuel triggers, so you can further see their
location from the air, and from anywhere.

 

- Changed a few convoys on the British/USA area of the map from Soviet to British/USA tanks and vehicles

you can destroy as there were to many Soviet and German static convoys.

 

- Changed the intro text that you see at the start of the mission, it will now
fade in and out, looking smoother.

 

- Added 2 scripts that will save your loadout before and after you die, the reason
for this is normally you start with no weapons, but when you die, by default
the pilot character unit, gets its default loadout apon respawning, so the two
scripts basically saves your loadout with no weapons, and returns it apon respawn.

 

- Added fences, camo net, and watchtower at airfield to add some aesthetics.

Update

v1.8

Changelog
- Removed aspects of the walls at player start, and relocated the control tower.

 

- Adjusted position of player start, increased the distance from where
the planes spawn to the sign as their was a collision if you spawned bombers
 their tail would hit the sign, now fixed.

 

- Made the two menu signs indestructible.

 

- Adjusted position of the taxiway trigger so its out of the way of any
planes wanting to get out onto the runway.

 

- Changed the respawn time from 5 to 3 seconds.

Update

v1.9

Changelog

- Updated the patrol script in the mission, the script is using the latest version from
my Aces of the sky mission with more functions.

 

- Added a new function to the radio menu, now if you press 0-0
at the top of the list will be a function titled   "Spawn Switch Mode"
This will allow you to determine how you want to respawn, either back at the sign at the airfield, or
in mid air 200 meters up in a new plane that is rearmed, what you were previously flying.

 

- Relocated spawn markers for the planes, all flying legend, secret weapons, and secret weapon reloaded
planes will spawn on the marker to the right of the player, with its own sign.

 

- IFA3 planes and Messershmitt Me109 planes will spawn from the sign in front of the player.

 

- Updated the briefing with new information and adjusted wording.

 

- Made some misc adjustments to the airfield and other things.

Sign to the right, i spawned a Messershmitt me109e here, smoke in the background is a instant rearm, repair, refuel point you access when you fly, its a huge trigger.

View distance settings

View distance settings you can access, one you only need to worry about is the In Air part, and yes i have my view distance set at 12,000 there,

it wont lag your game since the AO of the mission isn't very big anyways but even doing 6,000 meters will help you see better and make the AO clear.

Update v1.10

Changelog

- Added a Kill tracker Hud which can be adjusted in the Mp parameters.
The hud will keep track of your kills against planes, vehicles/tanks, and any deaths.

 

- Added two new ports of the mission on Baranow, and Panovo linked on the OP.

 

Notes

The hud can be changed in the mp parameters, you can disable it, or change it in your action menu for the score.

Update v1.11

Changelog - (all ports)

- Removed the kill tracker/hud as it wasn't working, only deaths were registering.
- Adjusted the wording on the recruit AI sign.

- Added a new port to the map El Alamein, linked on the OP.

Update v1.12

Changelog:

All Ports

- Increased the size and area of the markers where the enemy factions spawn, the enemy
  tanks and vehicles will now spawn in the entire area and not in specific areas.

- Adjusted the colors of the markers for the tank fields and the instant rearm, refuel, and repair
  locations so now their more visible on the map.

- Enabled the scoreboard in attributes/multiplayer settings.

- Adjusted the wording of the 0-0 menu.

- Removed the Soviet pilot, and menu options for spawning Soviet planes, tanks and vehicles for the Colleville, El Alamein, and Omaha map ports.

- Added new map port: Omaha

Important Notes: Performance

Keep in mind if you spawn a group more then 2 times, dont matter the faction, it can bog the performance down.

Spawn 1 group for whatever faction and theres like 8-10 tanks and vehicles in that group that will spawn in, so do that again, and you have

20+ tanks and vehicles roaming about.

    One map that at least from my testing was the Omaha map, spawning 2 groups is plenty, more then that and the performance drops alot

i think part of the reason for that is that map is from the mod Invasion 1944 from Arma 2 so its not completely optimized imo for Arma 3.
