Jahve 0 Posted February 13, 2003 OFPR tends to hang alot.. but only in SP.. why? Do I have too many addons or something? After about maybe 2-3 minutes playing, the game just hangs.. ALT+TAB doesnt work... CTRL+ALT+DEL doesnt work all the time either.. I formatted the day before yesterday.. Still like it.. help!!! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
theavonlady 2 Posted February 13, 2003 What are your specs? Also, where are your preference and video settings? Did you search The FAQ for words like "hang", "sluggish", "lag", "video options", etc.? Regarding addons, how many MB/GB is your addons folder? Have you tried playing with none or much fewer of the addons to see if the problem still occurs then? Try what I said. Move the addons elsewhere and see if it still hangs. How much free disk space do you have? If plenty, manually set your Windows virtual swap file size to 1GB. If you recently updated your video drivers, try an earlier version. New ones sometimes push the envelope a bit too far. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

In addition, search The FAQ specifically for "input delay" and follow through on the first matching FAQ item and everything it links to. What are your OFP preference and video options settings? Â <span id='postcolor'> That hang might be the game swapping textures to the disk cache if it is happening intermittently and not always causing a crash. It sounds like what was happening to me when I tried high terrain settings on my 32mb Geforce2. So try lowering the settings if you haven't done this yet.
