Custom stuff dosent show up

Recommended Posts

Iv downloaded alot of skins and vehicles, but nothing shows up ingame?

Lets say i want a Delta force skin,do i just download it and slap it in C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\Addons and it will always be used online??

Or will it be that i may not be able to connect to some servers if im using replaced skin(will the skins be replaced like in Half-life mods or in Q3A?)...will only i see it?

I would very much wanna use(and play on desert maps) desert skins.

Does anyone know of a server that plays only desert maps and such?

thx.

You put them in the right directory but if the mission you're playing doesn't make reference to a particular addon, you will not see it when playing the mission.

Yes, unfortunatly you cannot use addons unless you make missions that involve them yourself or you download missions that use them from the internet.

Its fun to make missions on your own though, the mission editor is very easy to get the hang of

I don't think many dedicated servers are using unofficial addons. sad.gif But I guess that's a good thing (as addons aren't downloaded to client like missions are)...

Usually the guys that make addons (whether they are skins, vehicles, or weapons) make some custom missions available so you can take advantage of and try out the addons -- I'd go back to where you got the addon(s) and look around.

Ok,thx guys!

But what about weapons?

I saw some kick ass weapons at http://ofp.gamezone.cz/ but what is the point of downloading them if they dosent show up ingame?

Are there no way to replace player skins/weapons so that u can use them all the time but only u see them? like in DoD or Q3A?

With soldier skins, the answer is no. That is, whatever a mission has scripted you as (NATO, desert, arctic, civilain skin, etc.), that's what you're wearing to the war.

With weapons, there's a drop more flexibility. A mission can optionally be defined to allow you to choose from a variety of weapons via the WEAPONS page in your mission briefing book.

However, the list of weapons you can choose from is finite and is determined by the mission script. There is no such option that allows you to select from all of the weapons addons you have downloaded into your addons folder.

You're bad again! If the mission script assigns you to be the sniper unit, that's the only way you'll get it. If you're assigned to be an officer, then that's what you are. If you're assigned to be a grenadier, that's what you're stuck with throughout the mission.
