Getting stuck on "Loading - Stage 2/5" when loading a mission file

Hello, Welcome to Bi forums Puffy!

The anarchyinthetk.takistan.pbo will go here ----->  C:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\MPMissions

thats if you have Arma2OA on steam, otherwise you will need to locate your Arma2OA directory and the MPMIssions folder and move the pbo to there.

 

You have Arma2OA on Steam, another digital download aside steam, or disc?

I have the steam version. What about the folder titled "anarchyinthetk.takistan"?

I'm guessing it's just the .pbo file uncompressed. The problem I'm running into I suppose is that the .pbo isn't loading properly or is taking way too long to load.

Ya thats the uncompressed folder of the pbo that is from the editor, unless you plan to update the mission in the editor

then you dont need this folder, just the pbo.

Missions where you play a life role in them usually have alot of scripts in them, plus for this mission in particular i downloaded the pbo

and opened the mission.sqm

my guess is its taking forever to load because it may require mods, or you need to make sure your also loading Arma2 as there maybe content

being used that is from Arma2 alone.

So heres what you can do:

1. Make sure your running Arma 2 as well as OA at the same time.

2. Provide your RPT

Rpt will show any errors regarding missing mods, and then we can see what mods are required if any.

 

So go to your rpt which is located here -----> C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\ArmA 2 OA

the latest rpt will have the latest or last date on it that you loaded the game with.

 

Open the rpt with notepad, highlight everything in it, and press control c to copy, then paste it here

once you paste it, click on publish (red button at bottom)

and grab the link and post in your reply, then we can take a look at whats going on with the game, so be

sure to try to load the mission again and then grab the rpt.

I got them working combined, and I scrubbed the RPT file to only show the most recent report. Here it is. https://justpaste.it/8hhod

I've also uploaded a video detailing the loading screen I am getting in game. Here it is.

I hope we can work together to solve this problem 🙂

Ok according to the rpt the only error is the following:

Mission anarchyinthetk.Takistan: Number of roles (99) is different from 'description.ext::Header::maxPlayer' (100)

 

This means in the mission there are 99 playable roles, but the description.ext which is in the mission folder, in the head the max player says 100

so basically you need to edit the mission and add 1 role to eliminate that error.

 

So take the mission folder from the zip you downloaded, and move it here:

C:\Users\your username\Documents\ArmA 2\missions

 

Then start the game go to the editor, then to takistan, open the mission, and locate the playable units, and add 1 unit.

Problem with this is each playable unit might have a name attached to them, and be linked in some of the scripts.

So the alternative is to open the mission folder itself and locate the description.ext file.

 

In it locate this line ---->   class Header {gameType =  TEAM; minPlayers = 1; maxPlayers = 100;};

and change that 100 to 99, then test.

    Also wait for the mission to load, theres 146+ scripts that need to load so give it a minute, ideally this type of mission

belongs on a dedicated server, local hosted is ok but that will depend on your computer too, anyways try that.
