Special force soldier

Recommended Posts

Aside from the model they are just retextured right?

What would be nicer is to see some soldiers with PASGT vests on.  Those vests were used for many years (and are still used in some units).  It's only since very recently that most U.S. Army infantry units have started to adopt newer vests with ceramic plate inserts.  The closest thing I've seen to units wearing these is the U.S. Marines in the SEB NAM2 pack wearing the older nylon ballistic vests.

Below is a picture of the PASGT vest.

Here is a pic of a soldier wearing a PSGT vest:

well it has a LBV 88 on whit magasins purses which you can see on the model. but els year I just gave the texture a make over and now he is wearing somthing thats looks lik a M81 woodland uniform jacket whit a LBV 88 on.

ofcause the rest of the model will look the same when I am done.

And I will consider giving him a PASGT west on. I am also considering to make a soldier whit PASGT and ALICE on.

A soldier with both the PASGT and ALICE pack on would be very nice.

Keep up the great work!

I agree, ALICE and PASGT would fit the 1985 timeframe really really well.

Miles, I thought most line units got the Interceptor Vests. Who still uses the PASGT's? The ANG and the Reserves?

Yeah Reserves and National Guard are still using the PASGT vests for the most part. Although I believe I caught some recent video of some regular army units still wearing them as well. They're not bad vests as they'll stop pretty much any shrapnel, and most pistol rounds. Their drawback is that they don't have inserts for ceramic plates and they are heavier then a interceptor vest without the plates. Also slightly less armor protection, although from tests I've read about, it'll stop anything up to a .44 magnum but the blunt trauma will still kill or seriously injure you. The PASGT is not given a NIJ rating because they don't rate vests that open from the front for some reason. I'm not sure what the big deal is because the flap that closes the vest has another layer of kevlar and you get a nice overlap. At any rate the U.S. Army used it for 15 years starting in the early 80's so I think it's quite appropriate for OFP.

Well you could youse a soldier whit PASGT and ALICE insted of the of the original soldier. would be more realistic.
