Pk and m60 sounds are firing too slow since the la

Recommended Posts

THis isnt and addon conflict because I reinstalled and removed all addons to isolate the problem the problem seems to have begun since as of patch 1.85 roughly. The machine gun sounds like a single shot gun fired very quickly instead of a continuous burst of sound as it did formerly. I hope BIS takes this into consideration with a future patch as the rest of the game works brilliantly. Battles are not the same without a machine gunner spraying an area with lead. I might add that the number of bullets appears to be the same but the sound is all screwed up.

Search The FAQ for "sound lag" and see if the first matching article might help.

Also post your detailed system specs? What sound card do you have? What Pentium? Does your motherboard contain a VIA chipset?

First I would like to thank you for always replying to my posts and offering so much help to every one.

My Computer is a 2.8 Gighz Dell with 1 Gig of Ram and a Radeon 9700 Graphix and a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Sound card...Don't know bout the VIA. All problems with the Radeon card have been Ironed out. I might Add that I have this problem on 2 separate machines....My other machine is a Dell 1.4 Gihz with 512 Ram and a SoundBlaster Audigy Sound card and a TNT 4 Graphix card and it is having the same problem since 1.85 patch. I don't know quite what to do. The terrain detail is already on low and I am still having the problem.

I revise my initial Remarks...The firing problems with the PK started with version 1.75....I actually totally reinstalled my computer (specs listed above) with a completely new version that I purchased (so I could Lan war with my other computer and tested the PK with Ai on various targets (infantry and vehicles from both resistance and West sides. My system was totally clean of any addons and all files were from a completely different set of disks....The Russian Machinegunners still don't fire their guns full auto...it is usually a single shot...then a burst of two then a single shot. I checked this against addons of machineguns and they work absolutely fine. I think something in resistance is causing the AI machine gunners to act as if they are sharp shooters because all other Machine guns (ie GFxs MG42 and the DKM MG3) are firing full Auto just fine. Please someone at BIS help solve this problem ....I love the PK and the sound it makes when in full auto.

I pray your Dell doesn't have a VIA chipset. It most probably doesn't.

You should check for patches for your Dell model at Dell Support, especially for BIOS, motherboard and sound card.

If you bought the sound card separately, you should check Santa Cruz's support for updated drivers.

Nope...Not Via....Intel Thank God...I did a system profile on Dell's website and all my drivers are current according to them. Even My sound card...The System is brand new and has run perfectly since I bought it. Ahhhrg this Pk problem is so vexing I can't bear to hear the Russian and resistance Machine gunners firing anymore! Thank you as always Avon Lady for responding...They should really pay you since you seem to do much of their leg work for them....My hat is off to you and your more than generous support for this community.

Is your sound card an on-board chipset or a separate installable card? If the latter, check Stanta Cruz - not Dell - for driver updates.

You mean it is an onboard sound chip? wow.gif Not sure what you're saying.

If it is, maybe it's worth your money to buy a card to replace it. Just watch out for SoundBlaster Live! wow.gif

Hmmm,I'm having the same problem also.My machine gun sounds like it is spitting. It never used to do that before.I have a Sound Blaster card. There is another seperate card that came with the computer but i don't use it.Plus ,when I try to fire the single shot rapidly, still,it sounds like some one spitting.
